Comparison result

Ready

Compare two versions of text, source code, configuration, or JSON directly in your browser. Foxipa’s Diff Checker keeps the comparison on your device and gives you multiple ways to inspect exactly what changed.

Compare the way you need

Use split, inline, or unified results depending on the job. Split comparison keeps both sides visible, inline comparison concentrates the reading surface, and unified output is compact enough to copy into tickets, commits, or documentation.

Ignore differences deliberately

Whitespace, capitalization, blank lines, and Unicode representation can be ignored independently. These are comparison rules, not destructive edits: the original inputs remain untouched. JSON mode can additionally compare canonicalized key order so that object-member ordering does not create noise.

Work with files or pasted content

Paste text directly or import files from your device. Nothing is uploaded by the tool. The browser File API supplies the selected file to the application, and the comparison is performed locally.

The result reports additions, deletions, changed rows, and total compared rows. Previous/Next controls jump between changed regions, while the result surface remains keyboard-scrollable. Copy and download actions produce a simple diff representation that is useful in reviews and bug reports.

JSON-aware comparison

Switch to JSON mode when comparing structured data. Foxipa validates both documents, pretty-prints them for stable inspection, and can sort object keys before comparison. JSON arrays remain ordered because their order is data, not presentation.

Privacy and performance

The tool has no server-side comparison endpoint. Inputs stay in the browser. Very large inputs are deliberately bounded in the first implementation so an accidental multi-megabyte paste cannot lock the interface; large comparisons use a dedicated Web Worker without changing the comparison contract, while smaller comparisons remain synchronous to avoid unnecessary worker overhead.

Frequently asked questions

Does Diff Checker upload my files? No. Imported files are read by the browser and compared locally.

Can I compare JSON? Yes. JSON mode validates the inputs and provides optional key-order normalization.

Does ignoring whitespace modify my text? No. Ignore rules affect the comparison only; the source text remains unchanged.

Which view should I use? Split is useful for detailed review, inline is compact, and unified is convenient for copying or sharing a patch-like result.
